Are you taking time for M.E.?
I’m a big believer in M.E. time. That stands for Motivators and Educators . . . M.E.! . . . things that inform, entertain, and energize me. And I find listening to podcasts can be a terrific contributor to M.E. time. Driving to work, running errands, working in the kitchen, walking or exercising are all excellent opportunities to tune into a podcast to earn something new and get some inspiration. Podcasts can provide insight from experts in various fields, and many are entertaining and educating at the same time.
I did some research and here is a list of five of the most popular career focused podcasts.
Being Boss is a podcast for creative entrepreneurs, freelancers, and side-hustlers. Join Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon as they dig into the mindset, habits, routines, and boundaries that help you make money doing what you love.
The Angie Lee Show
Angie Lee is your hilarious and wicked smart business bestie you’ve always wanted. You will laugh and be inspired to make your bank account not suck. Angie is dedicated to sharing her story and showing women how to upgrade their relationship with money. Her genius is helping women live a rich life, in their business, health and relationships.
Safe for Work
Life at work can be funny, challenging, ridiculous, and — yes, even satisfying. At Safe for Work, they are all about helping you find balance and happiness in your career. After all, many of us spend more time with our co-workers and clients than with our friends and family. Hosts Liz Dolan and Rico Gagliano give advice and also talk to experts about those moments at the office that can challenge the best of us: negotiating raises, knowing when it’s time to move on…or dealing with that annoying office mate with no boundaries.
Pivot is a great podcast to help you if you’re looking to change your career. Whether you’re looking for a new job or an entirely new career path, host Jenny Blake is an international speaker, career and business strategist and executive coach with expertise on systems, efficiency and career fluidity in the rapidly evolving knowledge economy. Formerly a Career Development Program Manager at Google (and author of the book Pivot, and before that, Life After College) she helps leaders, employees and entrepreneurs achieve greater clarity, engagement, fulfillment and impact.
The Marie Forleo Podcast
Named by Oprah as a thought leader for the next generation and one of Inc.’s 500 fastest growing companies, Marie Forleo’s goal is to help you become the person you most want to be. In this show, Marie and her guests share actionable strategies for greater happiness, success, motivation, creativity, productivity, love, health, contribution and fulfillment — often with a lot of laughs. From business, marketing and career advice, to tackling failure, disappointment and fear, to philanthropy and doing our part to make the world a more loving, just and equitable place
I would love to hear from you. What’s your favorite way to get M.E. time? And what are your favorite podcasts for career insight and development?
